JACK WRIGHT + ANDREW DRURY_053107: LIVE AT THE TANK
Andrew Drury, Jack Wright
May 31, 2007
Performance from Wright (reeds) and Drury (percussion) opened the show. A night of free radio and free music: free103point9 transmission artist Anna Friz favours instruments that breathe and oscillate; employing accordion, concertina, harmonica, theremin, radio samples, ambient field recordings, and voice to conjure unusual sonic spaces. For Chicago sound artist Eric Leonardson instruments lie in the detritus of everyday life. He employs a self-made instrument that he calls the Springboard, an electroacoustic percussion instrument made from inexpensive and readily available materials. Joining them will be a duo with legendary saxophonist Jack Wright and percussionist Andrew Drury. Members of the NYSAE, Edmund Mooney, Andrea Williams and Andrea Callard will play field recordings. Performances will be streamed live on free103point9 Online Radio.
