Zachary Watkins studied composition at Cornish College and Electronic Music at Mills College. Zachary was awarded a Mills Research Grant and was recently awarded the Paul Merritt Henry Prize for Composition for his piece Suite for String Quartet. He has been commissioned by clarinetist Beth Fleenor, Cornish College of the Arts, Trio Metrik and the sFSoundGroup. Zachary recently performed at the 2006 International Computer Music Conference with his band The Pink Canoes. During October of 2006, Zachary was an artist in residence at the Espy Foundation.
